Working Smarter Not Harder By Being Organized

Help me give my students supplies to allow them to work smarter not harder on their research expeditions.

My Project

Our students complete an expedition each semester which involves conducting case studies and research on a variety of aspects of the selected topic. Having physical products to assist with organizing their materials and keeping them in one place will allow for students to work smarter not harder.

Students are learning to look and learn about a topic in ways that teach life long learning of how to learn by teaching both researching a mile wide and a mile deep instead of the traditional mile wide and inch deep.

This method not only gives students knowledge of the topic they are learning but also how to learn about any topic. They will gather information about the topic, organize the information and finally create a product from their research. The products in this project will allow for students to have a place to store their research as well as transport their research with them as they do their case studies in person to various places.

Often these expeditions are community service related such as learning about invasive species, what they are, why they are harmful and how to dispose of them properly to help the environment. From their they will complete a service project by going to a preserve and assisting with removing invasive species. Finally they will create brochers on what they have done and why this work is so important for our environment. These brochers are given to the nature preserves to use in their lessons with the community.
