This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I'm a first-year teacher in the SLC class (Structured Learning Class, Autism- Self-Contained) at my school. I am so excited to get started!

My students are on the autism spectrum and are extra-special learners!

Our school is in an underserved community. The children come from poor socio-economic backgrounds, many from single-parent homes. Despite facing many challenges, these amazing students are eager and excited to learn. They will be beginning the year through a new platform and I am working hard to make their virtual experience one that is tailored to their specific needs.

My Project

Hi! Please help me make some adapted books, workbooks, work mats, and task cards for my special learners while they work from home!! I'd love to get to work and prep so I can send them home before we get started this year.

We will be working together daily online, however, it is also important for my special education students to have some 'hands-on' materials to use at home!

These books/cards will be a big help to build independent work skills and develop fine motor abilities.

The items I'm requesting will be a priceless asset to our class not only during virtual learning but will continue to be valuable for YEARS TO COME! Thank you for your consideration!
