Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach third grade in a Title I school. My students are at or below poverty level living in a suburb of Los Angeles, California. All of my students qualify for a free breakfast and lunch. My class consists of 10 amazing girls and 12 "ready to go" boys. They enjoy being challenged academically and physically every day. They are in the Limited English Proficiency program levels 1 and 2. My students are creative, inquisitive, hard-working, and eager to learn about the world around them, as well as themselves. In our online classes, my students work in a whole group during synchronous times and independently during asynchronous times.

They encourage each other to grow and explore their wonderful world of learning.

My Project

Online school has brought a revolution to education, by the accessibility of technology needed to use online school. The MSI monitor is HD and can easily fit in the work space for the students so they can view online material such as Google classroom and videos assigned by me at a faster frame rate and better quality. Also, the keyboard and mouse are needed because they need to connect to the desktop so my third graders can use the computer and also practice typing skills. My students need to use the SteelSeries headset for uses such as learning phonics sounds, hearing the teacher and also using educational platforms such as clever, YouTube, and Zoom.
