My Project

Students will use the iPad, other device covers, and headphones to enhance their reading and writing skills through interactive and engaging activities tailored to their unique learning needs. My special education students are resilient, creative, and eager to learn when given the right tools and support. They will access reading comprehension apps such as Lexia, that provide personalized learning experiences based on their skill levels, ensuring they progress at their own pace. Students will also use speech-to-text features to assist with writing, allowing them to express their thoughts more fluently, especially those who struggle with fine motor skills or traditional writing methods. With guided reading apps, they will listen to stories while following along with highlighted text to improve word recognition and fluency, accommodating different learning styles. Additionally, students will practice vocabulary building through digital word games and use graphic organizers to structure their writing, supporting their comprehension and organization skills. The iPad will also allow for collaborative work, where students can share and edit their writing with peers, fostering communication, confidence, and social engagement - all essential skills for their growth and success.
