My Students

Stories bring the world to life. Help us explore mythology, legends, realistic fiction stories, biographies and non-fiction topics.

My class is made up of 34 children.

They attend a Title I school in Queens. Our children receive free lunch and free breakfast. We have over 40 languages spoken and many children are English Language Learners. My class is eager to learn and experience new things.

My Project

With the new learning standards mythology and legends have become an important topic to learn about. Picture books help to bring these stories to life. We also are learning about famous people in our biography unit and interesting people to children help to engage them in learning. We are studying realistic fiction stories as mentors to our own writing. Non-fiction books help to teach us about new topics and help us to model our own non-fiction writing on published books. These books will be great examples of quality writing and stories.

Please help bring mythology and legends to life in our classroom.

Help inspire future readers and writers of non fiction, biographies and realistic fiction stories. Having great mentor texts helps to excite children about learning and builds life long readers, writers and learners.
