My Students

Picture this, a classroom of 26 five year olds staring at you, eager to soak up any information being taught! They are excited and energetic, despite the fact that many of them come from families with very little. I want my students to have the best resources in front of them all the time!

My students are from a high poverty area of DC.

Despite this fact, the school is one of the top performing schools in the city. Teachers are dedicated to ensuring students have the best of what's around and students are excited to learn and grow. Every day I walk into school, I am greeted by the best smiling five year-olds around. It is my job to make sure I am doing everything I can to set them up for successful school careers that lead to the amazing lives that they want and deserve.

My Project

These white boards will help with learning and engagement in the class. It is a chance for all students to be able to participate at once and get more practice sharing their answers.

Children need ample at bats and that is exactly what these boards will provide.

It is a way to check in quickly to see who is understanding the lesson and who may need more help. It keeps students on task while they are still able to have fun with the lesson.

I am excited to see them grow as writers and mathematicians as a result of these new materials!
