Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
Our Title I school is located in Long Island City, an area that is filled with a very diverse group of young learners. Some, not all of our students are considered to be both special needs as well as English Language Learners (ELL).
The funding from this project would reach all of the amazing students in our school's 5th grade.
They are a group of spectacular kids who would benefit from the experience of diving deep into the issues of kindness and tolerance.
My Project
The goal of this project is to continue to promote love, acceptance and tolerance within our school, our community, and our world.
The hash tag of the film is #choosekind and we want that to be a running theme for our 5th graders this year.
5th grade is a pivotal age in life. It is the last year our students will spend in our school. My hope is that by reading Wonder, discussing Wonder, and viewing the film, we can help our students to continue to grow into strong, tolerant individuals who will work to build themselves and others up. I believe that the message this film sends is a strong life lesson that will help our students through their last year with us and as they transition to another school at the end of the year.
