My Project

I would love my class to have the opportunity to read the novel Wonder because they will be able to process, analyze, and deal with their feelings as they come up. I love how the story show all the different characters point of views and this will help students think about how it is in other peoples shoes. My students are inclusive and make anyone feel like part of our group. At the beginning of they year, another school in our district lost a teacher and the 5th grade students had to go to a combination class. A few students began transferring to our school and my students were so inviting and friendly with them! They made the students feel like part of our classroom family. We have frequent community circles to share our thoughts and feelings in a safe space. Our classroom culture is strong and we really are like a family!
