My students need wobble chairs because they are active first graders. Students need a way to be able to concentrate while they are working. Wobble chairs allow the students to move but still be actively involved.

A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
I work in a school that is considered a "High Needs, Title One" school. It is a low-income/high poverty school. My students are faced with numerous challenges every single day. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to provide my students with a classroom atmosphere that promotes tolerance, love, respect, and teamwork.
My students are clever, energetic, and eager learners.
They like to have hands-on lessons that incorporate movement and they love lots of positive attention. Many are being raised by single parent households and receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status. These things may prevent them from getting ahead early in life and may not provide them with the life experiences many of us see as "typical". From the moment I met them, I have focused on building a relationship with each one of them and stress to them how much potential they have. I may not be able to control their home lives, however, I can control their experience at school. The students inspire me to continually seek quality resources that will provide them with the best education, which is why I would love your help in seeking flexible seating options for my students.
My Project
We all work best when we are comfortable. As adults, we can get distracted by aching backs or necks from how we sit while working. We can choose to change our seating to improve our productivity. Children need the same opportunity to have that choice. The traditional classroom chair and table or desk options are limited. This limitation can stifle productivity in children. It can also lead to students getting off task. Off task students can lead to behavior issues. When students are given a choice with wobble chairs, it provides three important things; an opportunity for maximizing potential, a sense of ownership in the classroom, and students gain tolerance for other students when working together or sitting by another student.
