My Students

My kindergarten-2nd graders are all diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. We are a from a highly-specialized school in Brooklyn, NY. My students range in functioning levels and most of the students are nonverbal.

All of my students have varying sensory needs.

They all feel the need to move around, fidget, and engage in sensory activities throughout the day. They need to engage in sensory activities in order to be able to focus and engage in the lessons while at school.

My Project

By having a Wobble chair, my students will be able to engage in sensory and movement while sitting in their chairs and doing their work.

These chairs will allow my students to be able to focus their ability on learning instead of the constant need to be moving.

It is my intention to use these chairs with my students for all aspects of their school day. They will be integrated into all academic, social, and sensory times during the school day.

It is my hope that the students will be able to focus, calm their bodies down, and engage in all lessons during the school day.
