My Students

I have 22 boys and girls that come from very diverse backgrounds and learn in all different ways. They are very curious, creative, kind, and ambitious little learners. They inspire me to do everything that I can to find resources and opportunities to help them succeed. In our classroom, they know that I believe in them, they matter, and they can learn even from their mistakes. Many of my students need to be very active and experience hands-on learning to learn the most. They are confident and willing to give me their all every day!

My Project

We currently have two wobble stools our classroom, and my students absolutely love using them and really need more! When I asked my students what they wanted in our room to help them focus, they immediately said, "more wobble stools!" When I asked some of my students why they wanted wobble stools, they responded with answers like, "it wakes up my brain," "it helps me focus," and "it makes learning more fun!" These materials promote active movement and balance while learning to keep students exercising and engaged while learning. Young children need to move their bodies all throughout the day to stay healthy and learn their very best.

These flexible seating options will primarily be used during small group guided reading and guided math lessons.

This is a crucial part of the school day where students really need to focus and can wiggle while they work. However, the wobble stools can also be used during whole group lessons, read-alouds, station work, partner activities, independent reading, and any other time during the day.

With these wobble students, my sweet and wiggly students can stay active while they focus on the task at hand. They can focus their brains and their bodies on working hard and playing hard, and they won't need to be embarrassed about the ways that they learn. It is my passion as a teacher to provide my students with the skills and tools that they need to be successful for the future, and I believe that these wobble stools will help them in my classroom and beyond!
