My Project

This fall, I invested in a wobble stool and a booklet binding machine to help support diverse learners in my classroom. Your support will add 3 more wobble stools for my science room, two for the guidance counseling offices, and 2 for our school's 7th grade special education classroom. The book binding supplies provide binding supplies for 4 more science units. The stools and booklets are both durable, and will benefit students for years to come.

While the wobble stool especially supports students with a need to move and wiggle, all students love it from time to time. This project will add 3 more stools to my classroom, plus stools for the guidance offices and a special education class, giving more students opportunities for fun, flexible and supportive seating. These stools very durable, and will last us for years!

The booklet-making has been a hit for saving materials and meeting diverse learning needs. With this tool, I've made specialized write-in versions of our science notebooks. It also reduced paper copies by creating sharp, professional-looking re-usable books to guide our experiments, readings, and other science class activities.

Also, students have made collaborative class books as projects centered around the NY harbor and the environment. I can bind their pages into books, amplifying student voice and art in our science room years after students move on.

These materials will support the day-to-day needs of our students, amplify their voices, and support diverse learners, and will last for years.
