My Students

I teach 4th Grade at an extremely high-poverty school in Middle Tennessee. I teach to many backgrounds including many ESL students, non-English speaking children, homeless students, and many that considered high-at-risk-students.

One of my goals in teaching is to allow students flexible seating throughout the day.

I have students work in groups to allow for collaboration. In order to do that, I want to create flexible seating where students have the choice to learn in which they will learn best!

My Project

I want to provide my students will a variety of flexible seating options for them to choose from to best meet their needs.​ The wobble chairs I'm hoping to get for my students allow for movement and at a height that works well for all heights of my students. The students who receive them remain on task and are able to focus longer. I would like for all students to have the opportunity to sit in chairs that meet their needs on a regular basis.

These flexible seating options will help me give students to choose where they will learn best.

I have several students in my class with ADD/ADHD or learning disabilities. The yoga balls will allow for students to bounce while learning. I teach on a yoga ball at my small group table, and I would love to give them the opportunity to have flexible learning as well. The pads for the floor will give cushion when they want to learn at a lowered table or on the floor.
