My Students

If you've ever been in a second grade classroom, you know that we are constantly moving around the room! We don't stay in one place for very long, however, there are times when students are expected to work quietly at their seats. This can be difficult for some students!

I have a wonderful group of 24 active learners!

They thrive on learning new information. I try to make my classroom fun and engaging, and we are never in one spot for very long! It's important for students at this age to move, but they also need to learn the stamina to sit and work on their own quietly for awhile too. I'm always willing to try new approaches in my classroom to maximize student achievement. Each student is different and learns a different way!

My Project

Sitting still can be difficult for some students who are always on the move! These Wobble Chairs will also my students the ability to move in a quiet way, while still working on their assignments. My hope is that these students will be able to sharpen their focus through movement without distracting those around them! These chairs will be a great resource for use during my small group reading time where students are expected to sit for a period of time to read. If it helps students focus more on their work, their great work will show that!

As I said, each student is different and learns a different way. Some students need constant movement to learn! I want each student to be successful any way that works best for them! As a teacher, it's my job to find the best method to ensure a positive learning experience!
