My Students

My students are intelligent, creative, and incredibly musical young musicians. I have the absolute best job in the world, sharing a love of music and creativity with young minds. Though we are in a high needs area of New York City, nothing can quell their love of music!

Their enthusiasm for learning music is infectious and I learn from them every single day.

In every class we are singing, moving, playing, composing, and performing and it is incredible what these students can create. Because of their incredible thirst for knowledge, we are always coming up with new opportunities and new ways to make music!

My Project

This year our school has the incredible opportunity to start the first ever concert band! Our students have had music since they started in Kindergarten, but now it's time to put our skills to the test and begin creating music in an ensemble. However, we are building our band program from scratch and financial burden should never stand in the way of a child's ability to learn music.

My musicians are some of the most talented and hardworking students around.

With this new band program, I expect amazing things from them, but I want to make sure everyone is afforded the opportunity to be a part of our musical community. Saxophones are some of the most expensive instruments for a new program, so this project will ensure that my musicians are able to get the full band experience and play the instrument of their dreams!
