Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom is filled with very bright minds. Each and every one of my students are eager to learn and be challenged. They are inquisitive and want knowledge and exposure to the world around them.

This year's class has personalities that can light up any room and put a smile on your face at any time.

My students are persistent, do not give up easily, and are always willing to help one another. We have built a family in my classroom, where each student is important, special, unique, respected, and cared for. Students in our school come from very low-income families who are trying to make ends meet. Our school is a Title I school. This means that 99% of our school population lives below the poverty level and is entitled to the free lunch program. Although the students in our school have limited resources, they are always eager to learn and are very enthusiastic. Most of our students live in housing projects or shelters. The resources available to the school are very limited.

My Project

I have very willing and eager students who love to work hard. They are in need of the tools necessary for them to continue working hard every single day. I am asking for supplies that will help make them be successful. Hopefully, they can finally have pencils that don't break on them every second causing them to have to stop their work, get up, and sharpen them. I am also asking for a printer, ink cartridges, and copy paper, so my students can have access to online materials that can be in their hands within seconds.

The Legos and magnetic tiles will help my students have an outlet for their creativity.

Every Friday my students have center time. This time of the week is so crucial for them. They get to take a break from all the hard work and just be kids. My goal is to grow the social and emotional skills needed when playing with one another and expressing themselves through play which will help them grow into well-rounded people.
