My Project

Children with autism thrive in a structured and predictable environment. In a world that's ever changing, routine and structure provide great comfort and support to a child on the autism spectrum. In my classroom, it is important to minimize distractions. The book shelves and storage bins will be used to store adapted books, adapted center materials, and manipulatives. I don't want my students focusing on the materials at the expense of valuable learning time. A well organized classroom sends a clear and positive message to my students. This room was created for them, with their specific needs in mind, because their learning is important. I want my classroom to feel comfortable and functional.
