This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am an educator returning to the classroom after exploring other positions in the academic world. My school is close to 100% free and reduced lunch with many monolingual students. My students want to learn and our eager to become better readers, but we need some help.

We would love to have Kindles and informational texts to use for reading groups.

Using Kindles students can enjoy novel studies based on their appropriate reading levels in small groups. The informational texts will provide ample reading materials for students to "read to learn" with a broad range of interesting topics.

As an educator returning to the classroom, I need basic supplies to help my students learn. Examples include white boards, dry erase markers, materials for classroom bulletin boards, and chart paper. I know my project is expensive, but these supplies are important for my students to be successful. They deserve to have everything they want to boost their reading skills.
