This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"Everybody in this country should learn how to program a computer...because it teaches you how to think."-Steve Jobs We have three iPads available on a consistent basis and others that we share with other classrooms. The iPad Air 2 will give us four iPads that my students can use consistently.

I teach a diverse group of students.

I have students whose families come from Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, India, the Philippines, and the United States. Fourteen of my students are English learners. Many of my students are from working class families. My students' families are interested and involved in their children's educations. As a school community, however, we need assistance to obtain materials to enrich student learning.

My Project

The iPad Air 2 I am requesting is a powerful tool that will enhance learning in my classroom in numerous ways. It will allow my students to watch educational videos using apps like BrainPOP and BrainPOP Jr. It will allow them to create Keynotes and do internet research. This iPad will also help my students learn the basics of computer programming. They will complete 20 hours of coding through code.org. They will get addition practice coding through apps like Cargo-Bot, Daisy the Dinosaur, and Hopscotch.

The iPad Air 2 you are funding will give my students access to some very powerful apps that will enhance their learning.

It will also allow my students to learn the basics of computer programming. This will allow them to strengthen their problem solving skills.
