My Project

I am a special education teacher in a Title I-funded school whose job it is to help a wide variety of students K-8. We have 29 students in our special education department with many different needs. We currently have some students who need assistance with verbal communication, learning through different processes and using up energy in order to be star students.

Being able to communicate is the key to success, and some of my students simply are nonverbal.

The Touch Recorder will help our students communicate with each other as well as other teachers. It is a tool that will be invaluable in teaching communication to these students.

Many of our students need modified learning environments. The iPad will help with a different way to learn in the classroom, as well as provide incentive for good behavior. This tool will utilize a student’s different modalities of learning to enable learning.

Most of the student in our special education program have ADD and ADHD. The stress balls will help students with the release of unwanted energy or frustration. During tests and reading time the students can use the stress balls to focus on the task at hand.

As you can see, all of the materials are needed in our Special Education (SPED) classroom. The students will benefit greatly with your help!
