This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our School is the only Elementary to have a Mariachi band. The group consists of 30 dedicated students who practice once a week to learn classic Spanish songs. The students are very eager to learn how to play an instrument and learn how to sing.

Our school is a Title 1 school in which all the students receive free lunch and are also provided breakfast in the classroom to get their day started.

Many of the students live in very small apartments with multiple families living together. School becomes a second home for many of the students and they feel safe and happy to be at school every day and they really enjoy practicing their music and performing in different venues around the city.

My Project

The Mariachi band is in urgent need of a wireless microphone system. Our Mariachi band consists of 30 dedicated students who consistently practice every week for two hours to sound amazing.

Our Mariachi band is very popular in our community and the students perform in small and large outdoor venues around the city.

When the events are outdoor we need at least four microphones so the audience can enjoy the concert and sing along to all our favorite songs.

During rehearsals, the students also need to practice using the microphones so they can be able to sound loud when they perform all their songs to the audience.
