My Project

If you need a daily dose of sunshine, visit an early childhood center. Children this age are kind, curious, and loving. Our building focuses on positive behavior and reinforcing kindness. Because they are young, we love to create environments and projects that encourage learning to be fun. I plan to implement this with a snowglobe for the children to interact and to host lessons within. The goal is to teach these children to socialize in a positive manner.

Play is work for early childhood students.

I would like to use the tent to create an area for dramatic play and a place to go and play while "sneaking" in the learning. This project will provide opportunities to collaborate, share, take turns, math skills, and a reinforcer for school-wide positive behavior.

Our children are unique because we are an inclusionary school and have many special needs students in each classroom. We are fortunate to have amazing para support also.

Covid has definitely affected the classroom and students. This is my 30th year to teach and I have noticed the lack of social skills, patience, self-soothing abilities and emotional delays. These children are used to instant gratification and do not seem to be "impressed" by school.

These children need to learn to interact with each other. They need to learn to share, take turns, and to make positive choices.
