Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our classroom is filled with amazing students who bring resilience and unique stories, but many face challenges outside of school, including trauma and instability. My goal is to create a space of warmth, safety, and connection where they can feel supported and ready to learn. This winter, I am hoping to add three important tools to our classroom: a high-quality speaker, a set of fidget toys, and healthy real fruit bar snacks.

A speaker will allow us to bring music into our classroom for dance breaks, helping students reduce stress, build positive relationships, and create moments of joy that foster community.

It will also amplify ENL videos, making sure all students can hear clearly and fully engage in the lesson. Fidget toys will support social-emotional learning by providing a calming and productive way for students to focus, especially those managing stress or nervous energy. Real fruit bar snacks will ensure students have the nourishment they need to stay energized and attentive, especially those who come to school hungry.

School should be a safe space where students feel a sense of belonging and community. These tools will help us create a “Winter Wonderland of Learning” filled with warmth, focus, and connection.
