Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Students in my classroom often struggle the most when they are away from school for a long weekend or holiday break. This is because their home life is not regulated and organized like it is in school.
Please help give my students their own take-home self regulation winter bags so that they have activities and resources to help them thrive during the long extended winter holiday.
The stress ball, fidget spinners, spinner balls, squeeze toys and playdough will all be used to help regulate using their hands. The hats and mittens will help keep them warm so that they are comfortable in their colder homes. The candy canes and ring pops will be a sweet treat that will bring a smile to their face. The bubbles, coloring book, and crayons will help them practice their breathing strategies. The sticker pages will allow them to work independently while being creative. All of these activities will be housed a bag. The teachers will show the kids all of these resources and activities before they take them home so that the bags can be used for what they were created with in mind.
