Winter Makerspace Snowman Fun

Help me give my students DIY snowman kits to have a winter makerspace activity to learn a variety of science concepts in a fun way. It doesn't snow in Hawaii, so I want to bring snow to them.

My Project

Every year, I like to do a fun winter activity with my students. As the school's STEAM teacher, I need to choose a project that is fun for students K-6 that I can create lessons to meet the standards with the same materials. Students in kindergarten can have fun building their snowman while then deciding what a snowman (living thing) will need to survive, while the 6th graders can create a form of transportation that will keep it safe when in an accident. These hands-on, project based interactive learning help not only make learning more fun, but engaging in a way that learning sticks.

Although, these "snowmen" will not be cold, it will give my students a fun experience many students who live near snow take for granted.

Learning through modeling real life problems experiences that occur, help learning stick.

I'm also asking for a charging station to help keep our electronics charged because we do a lot of engineering/robotics projects that need an iPad or computer to program. These hands-on projects can't be done without charged devices.

Mrs. Mishima-Donahue will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by March 24.
