My Project

I have over 20 classes that rotate through my room each week. For many, it's one of the few times during the day they can work together and collaborate. We usually work in pairs and groups, and for the most part, students can pick what they would really like to focus on. Some choose construction while others gravitate toward drawing and designing. Many also like to water the plants and help with propagation and transplanting.

I would like to bring more gardening inside with hydroponics units, grow lights, and a variety of herbs and leafy plant seeds as students grow and harvest from our classroom garden.

This will allow students to see the growth in front of them while comparing the amount of space used to that of plants in a garden. Students will be able to see and work the process as we go from seed to edible produce.
