My Project

My students are becoming increasingly aware of good books. Just today a student told me, "This book woke me up!" Another student recently told me that he didn't like to read until he came to my class. My students are starting to recommend books to one another and they are learning to make connections to themselves and the world around them through books.

With this project, I would love to add more Newbery Award-winning books to our classroom library, as well as National Book Award winners.

I have made sure that my students have access to books that act as mirrors, and now I want to make sure they also have plenty of books that act as windows.
