'Wilkens 1 World': Wonderful Things Are Happening!

My Project

As a Teacher who has returned to my alma mater, Wilkens 1, I am anxious to post this Donors Choose project. Because I was in this classroom from 2007-2013, I am excited to make some additions to maximize the use of space and appeal to the children's interests throughout the classroom.

Many of the items I've selected will compliment what we already have in place.

For example, we have an ironing board in our Pretend and Learn Practice Center, but we could use an iron. We need fresh sand for our Sensory Practice Center. The children have plenty of playdoh tools, but we need playdoh! We could use the lidded storage trays to organize supplies, and for activities such as sorting, art, and science experiments. The Engineer-A-Coaster and the Turn and Learn Magnetic gears can be placed on areas like the classroom refrigerator to allow for the children to engage in a different space. The Writer's Corner and Creativity Station could use the Design Rollers to enhance their art work. Write and Wipe Erasers would help the children to correct any mistakes while writing and drawing using the Broad-Tip Dry Erase Markers. How cool would the Animal Sounds puzzles and Learn to Dress Doll be for the Fine Motor Practice Center? The children could learn about different cultures and travel using the International Homes, Friends Around the World Figures, and the Take-Along Train Station in the Construction Practice Center.

Other items would be completely new to the children, like the Step2 Wagon for Two which we could use indoors and outdoors. For now, the children are using tricycles, balls, and a parachute for gross motor play.

The children would enjoy more choices in the Math and Science Practice Centers like the Science Viewers, and Count With Me Talking Cookie Jar.
