Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The requested supplies will have a twofold purpose. First, it will help the students have a cozy place to read independently or with a buddy. The log cushions with the campfire and lanterns will set the stage for a calm/relaxing area that will be used for the students to work. Quiet spaces are conducive to learning, and help students focus/concentrate.

The second purpose will be to have a big celebration to showcase their writing.

At the end of our nonfiction unit, the students put together a writing piece about an animal of their choice. They also create a diorama that will be displayed in the classroom. Both the diorama and writing pieces are showcased in the classroom for parents to come view. The room becomes a campsite where the students will use the materials from this project to celebrate their hard work. It has been proven that an end-of-unit celebration boosts student motivation, reinforces learning, and builds a sense of accomplishment. I need your help to make this vision come to life. Thank you!
