My Project

The Wildcat Regulation and Sensory Den would provide a space to help individuals with sensory processing disorders develop coping strategies to regulate their brain's responses while at school. This helps them to be able to integrate and keep up with the social and academic learning in their classrooms.

A swing, spinning chair, and ergometric tool would help us partner with our occupational therapist to make sure that the design of this classroom would be tailored to each individual's needs.

It would be a multi-sensory room that would help all individuals feel safe in who they are. These items would provide a calming corner to help destress some individuals while countering to provide stimulation for sensory seekers. It will also provide socialization groups and partnering to teach social skills and body awareness. All benefits lead to cognitive, behavioral, and sensory development.
