Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

First grade is such a critical year for many students. There is always a wide range of levels and abilities in my classroom. I have students that are just learning to blend words together, as well as students who are already reading beginning chapter books!

My students all contribute different talents and skills to the classroom and learn from one another every day.

They all know that no matter where they are in the learning process we focus on helping each other move forward, instead of slowing each other down.

Many of my students are in school all day for the first time this year, and it's a huge adjustment! Every day, we build relationships, encourage each other to follow directions, and learn to interact with each other in a kind way.

My Project

These stability discs will help my wiggly students that struggle with Attention Deficit Disorder work better at their seats because it will help them let their wiggles out as they work. They can also use them while they work at the rug.

When a student is able to move while working, they are able to focus and become more engaged in learning!

We also are asking for headphones, because unfortunately, so many of ours are broken. We use a wonderful individualized reading program on our iPads every day. The students need to hear the instructions and pronunciations of the words clearly without being distracted by other students' iPads. New headphones would help them to better focus on their own learning activities.
