Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
One of my goals for the upcoming year is to provide my students with more flexible seating options. I want my students to learn in the most comfortable position possible for them. I have three different options for flexible seating for students. The floor seats are very beneficial for students who have a hard time attending to a lesson from the carpet. These chairs will really help my students who need back support. The bubble seats will benefit students who need sensory input in order to focus and the wobble chairs will help my students who need movement.
This is very personal to me because I also struggle to focus if I am in an uncomfortable position so I empathize with students who struggle to complete work on the carpet or in an uncomfortable chair.
I have a desk chair for myself, which allows me to sit in a variety of more comfortable positions while I do read alouds and work with my students. All these seating options will be so useful and great in my class. I am so excited for them!
