Flexible seating can transform both a classroom and a student's learning experience! I have seen it firsthand with my third graders. My students are active bodies with active minds. Many of my students learn best in non-traditional seating options. Throughout the day, I will have students sitting on our classroom rug with a clipboard or at a lowered small-group table with kneeling pads. While other areas of my classroom give students voice and choice in terms of flexible seating, there are times when students need to be at their desk in their chair.
