My Project

Kindergarteners like to move, want to move and need to move.

Flexible seating will allow for active sitting; active sitting means muscles are engaged and working while they are sitting.

Many of my students that would have attended the pre-k program opted out of it due to Covid. Many of my students that would have attended the pre-k program opted out of it due to Covid. Kindergarten is the first time to sit and focus for a period of time. Many have missed out on play dates, trips to the park, playing sports as well as many other activities. Activities that help build core strength, teaches them how to self regulation and aids in improving concentration. Wobble stools, wobble cushions and chair fidget bands will promote core stability, positive posture to allow for more blood flow and oxygen to the brain to keep their brains alert and focused and heightened sensory experience to stay seated for longer periods. The weighted vest will create calmness and provide better body awareness.
