My Students

I teach the English portion of our school's Spanish Immersion program. This means I have a total of 40 wonderful 5 to 6 year old learners, with two classes of 20 students. I absolutely love teaching language arts and sharing my passion for reading and writing with them. I am so excited when my students learn to read and love to read and write!

Covid-19 has really made consistency and learning challenging for this group of deserving Kindergartners.

My kindergarten students attend a high poverty Pre-K to 5th grade elementary school. have a very diverse population of students in my classroom. Many of my students come from high poverty homes and are not given opportunities to engage in appropriate social behaviors with same age peers.

My Project

During this unfortunate Pandemic, my students have to remain in their seats all day. This is a daunting task to expect 5 year children to be able to do. I would love to provide them with wiggle cushions that allow them to move and be active while also being safe and engaged in learning.

As you can imagine, Kindergarteners are very active learners.

They like to stand, squat, tap, bounce... you name it! The wiggle cushions will give them something to relieve their stress and allow them to move a little while remaining in their seats.
