My Students

I am excited to work with a group of loving, creative, and hard working kindergarteners this year! This is the first school experience for the majority of students in my class. They come from different backgrounds and are always willing to help their peers. They absolutely love hands-on games and activities. They are always willing to come to school to try new things in order to grow personally and academically.

I teach at the highest poverty elementary school in my district.

These students face many difficulties in their everyday lives and think of school as their safe place. Unfortunately, we lack many resources which make it so that that these kids lack opportunities they could be afforded elsewhere.

Each child in my classroom absolutely loves to learn. They are always eager to learn their letters and discover sounds. Every day they showcase their curiosity, enthusiasm, and creativity in the classroom. They are truly an incredible and thoughtful group of learners!

My Project

The goal of this project is to meet the sensory needs of my kindergartners. Flexible seating will allow my students to take charge of their learning and make choices that will work the best for them. If the students are more comfortable and take ownership of their classroom, they are more successful academically. Young children have an extremely difficult time sitting still; these flexible seats will allow them to move appropriately while also remaining on task.

My goal is to provide a positive learning environment where my all students can find comfortable sitting opportunities.

Some students need to move, and I do not believe their academics should be compromised because of this. Allowing students to use these seats will help them get out their energy while still being able to learn. Your generous donation will help to ensure that my kindergarten students will be able to focus and maximize their attention to the academic tasks at hand. You will make it possible for them to listen to their teacher and complete their work independently while getting the sensory input that they need. I am so excited to see the impact these seats will have on my kindergartners!
