My students need 6 wobble stools! These stools allow the kids to wiggle while they work! This will help all students, but especially my kids with attention deficits as it improves posture and focus.

A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
I teach in a college town with a VERY wide array of kiddos. 8 of my 24 kids have special needs which requires an individualized learning plan. 7 of my students are still learning English and there are 6 different languages spoken in my classroom. I co-teach with a special education teacher so that my students with disabilities do not have to be separated from their peers.
We celebrate diversity and embrace our different heritages, cultures and learning styles.
We respect each other and help each other reach our full potential. We all learn together and we learn from each other. We strive to have a growth mindset and appreciate our failures and learn from them, rather than be embarrassed by them.
I am always searching for ways to give my students the best possible educational experience. I look for diverse books that reflect my diverse kids. I look for STEM projects and supplies to prepare them for their 21st century futures. Join me in creating a classroom that inspires my kids to love learning.
My Project
I cringe whenever I see the media portray classrooms as a room with rows of desks with every child sitting stiff backed in a chair, facing forward, listening to their teacher lecture. While that may be the classroom of the past, that will not be my classroom. With your help, this is what my classroom could be.
Imagine a classroom where kids are engaging with their peers, using their hands, minds and voices to experience learning in a way that makes them look forward coming to school.
These kids are in a classroom that makes them feel welcome and respected. They are given a choice in how they learn. They are not asked to sit still and be quiet all day long. Sitting still is hard! Kids shouldn't have to focus on that when they are in school to focus on learning.
These wobble stools will give kids the opportunity to let out their excitement and energy while they learn. They will improve their posture and core strength. It will be a way I can show them that I care and I want them to feel comfortable in their classroom. Learning doesn't have to happen at a desk. Learning happens when kids can be kids. Let them move! Let them learn.
