Do you like to sit on a hard floor when you read or write for enjoyment?

In an uncomfortable chair at your kitchen table? On the concrete patio around a pool? No, you probably like to curl up in your favorite squishy, soft chair or even stretch out on your pillow soft bed. Do you do your best work while sitting still? No, you probably do your best when you are able to move around. First graders feel the same! The majority of my students come from low income families. Almost 70% qualify for free or reduced price lunch and some are even homeless. Many students come to school with very few positive life experiences. Most do not have books at home, and several do not even have that comfy chair or bed to curl up in to read a book.

My Project

A comfortable and cozy learning environment is the best way for students to learn. Having wobble chairs will provide my students with more comfortable seating options that will let them move! Students will be able to choose where and how they want to read, write, and work!

My classroom is a home and my students are a family.

For some of my students, our classroom is the safest place in their young lives. Students learn best when they feel safe, are comfortable, and active comfortable and cozy learning environment is the best way for students to learn. Having wobble chairs will provide my students with more comfortable seating options that will let them move!
