Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work in a high poverty school. Most of my students did not attend preschool and receive free or reduced-price lunch. Many of these children are English learners, so while they are learning the essential basic skills for their educational foundation, they are also learning a new language!

My students generally come to me with little or no prior experience with using academic tools such as pencils or crayons.

They make incredible gains in this one short year of school. They are absolutely amazing kids!

My Project

Young children need to move! It can be very difficult for some children to sit still in a rigid chair and complete a task. Their minds wander, their bodies need movement, and they become distracted.

When students can move around while they're working, they are more productive and they actually learn better!

I incorporate as much movement as possible throughout our school day, but sometimes my students simply have to sit at a table and complete a task.

I am asking for a set of six wobble chairs that will enable students to wiggle and move around a bit while they're working, hence making it easier for those little movers to learn better.
