Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is dedicated to empowering our students to take charge of their own learning and actively participate in their own academic development and growth. We are a Title I school - without your funding and support, many of our students would not be able to participate fully in profound educational experiences beyond the walls of the classroom.

Our Kindergartners care deeply about their learning and are passionate about "helping their brains grow." They are highly independent, creative students.

They are empathetic and caring towards one another. Our students are curious about the world around them and actively apply their new knowledge to their lives. They are so grateful for your support and generosity in helping them be successful and achieve their dreams.

My Project

Students are highly motivated to complete high level work, but often some need additional sensory input or opportunities to move at their seats in order to stay focused. Students can sit on these wiggle seats during whole group instruction to move in circles or back and forth as they need to stay engaged. They can also move the seats to their chairs to help them move as they work on their independent tasks or worksheets. The students can flip between the bumpy and the smooth side depending on their sensory needs.

These "wiggle seats" will allow students with higher sensory or movement needs to complete their work to the best of their abilities with a higher degree of independence, and it will help them focus during instruction.

They will allow all students to be able to engage fully in each lesson, require minimal to no redirection from an adult, and help them feel successful by helping them to stay focused to finish a task.
