This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are, in one word, stars! I had the pleasure of having them last year and got to know their different learning styles. One thing they all have in common: they love to move around as they learn! They learn best when given the freedom of moving about as they seek knowledgeable ideas from their peers.

My stars deserve the chance to achieve all that is possible while being in a safe environment.

Society tells them too many times that they can’t do it, but they have proven themselves worthy. Regardless of any external pressures, I have promised them time and again that I will be there every step of the way and help them overcome any obstacles that come their way!

My Project

Flexible seating for my students is a new concept for them. They are not confined to the chairs or desks so they are free to move around, however, these materials will make them more comfortable. The wobble seats would be a great addition to the classroom for those students who can’t seem to help but fidget around. Having a seat that wiggles with their movements will allow them to concentrate on the task at hand.

The portable lap desks will allow students who love to work on the ground a place to put their notebooks or laptops.

They won’t get tired of bending down to write their notes and allows them to maintain eye contact with their peers. The bean bags are sure to be a student favorite. For students who would rather lounge while working, this product will allow the students with maximum comfort and productivity. Finally, because the classroom will allow for flexible seating, students need a place to put their notebooks so the bins will allow them to organize their materials by groups.
