Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are the most amazing kids I have had the pleasure to work with. They come to school with a positive attitude every day. They go above and beyond to better themselves and to show the world that they are capable of anything. I am extremely proud of all of my students and the effort they put into their academics.

My school is a Title I, at-risk school, with a population of over 70% of English Language Learners.

My students come from low-income families, too. Families who work relentlessly day and night just to make it through the week. Due to the Coronavirus, many schools were forced to close their doors and find innovative ways to help students continue learning from home.

My Project

My students deserve to have a great year after what was considered the hardest school year ever known. The whiteboards will help me engage my students in all subjects by allowing them to share their thinking in a more creative manner. The headphones will help them stay focused on their blended learning such as Iready and St Math.

Unfortunately, COVID-19 has impacted schools negatively in many ways.

The classroom teachers that once encouraged sharing classroom supplies are now having to restrict students from sharing in order to avoid the spread of COVID-19. With that said, the pocket holders will help me keep my students safe from COVID-19, as I can easily wipe them down after each use.

As we all know, students all around the world lost a full year of education. That is a full year of creativity put on hold. The file folders will help me organize creative lesson plans and activities for my students. Lastly, the wobbly stools, lap boards, and floor seats will help my students who need a flexible seating option focus in class and will help minimize distractions so everyone can have optimal learning.
