My Students

My students are funny, smart, and try so hard to learn and please their teacher. My class is diverse and there are many students whose first language is not English. Having hands-on tools available to them is crucial to the success of their learning. They love exploring and being creative in their learning. Some of their favorite things to do are STEM activities and of course, art. I have some of the most creative first graders!

Nelson Mandela once said, "Education is the most important weapon which you can use to change the world." I hope that through the education my students receive, this is something they will take away at the end of the year.

My students especially love it when I bring out the hands-on learning tools available in our classroom. It is so fun to watch their minds grow and expand as they are manipulating objects that help to solidify the difficult concepts taught in first grade. In addition to teaching my students content from the core, I am trying to teach them that education is powerful, that it will get them anywhere they want to go, and that it will help them to change the world.

My Project

I have heard for years now that flexible seating is, "the way to go". I have decided to "jump on the bandwagon" and give it a try! These six wobble stools will help my most wiggly students remain focused during seat work.

I want to provide my students with a learning environment that is comfortable, and beneficial to them, wobble stools will help!

As I reflect back on previous years, I think about how many of my students are moving around at their desks during seat work. They may be dancing, bouncing their leg, or even standing and swaying back and forth. These wobble stools would provide a safe, fun way for students to move while they work.
