My Students

"Teamwork builds character - teaches people about leadership and cooperation," said Mo Rocca and this is what my students strive for in my PE classes.

We are a high poverty school located in rural North Carolina.

Our view from the gym is the back pasture of a dairy farm. We are very lucky that we have a gym for class but our equipment is old and in desperate need of replacement. My students love to be active and play games. They constantly keep me on my toes with their ideas for new games and activities for PE class.

My Project

My students need 45 new pinnies in three colors for our games that focus on sportsmanship and teamwork. We are requesting new pinnies so we can play different team games. Teamwork, cooperation and sportsmanship are the focus of my PE program. These are traits that will follow my students throughout their school years and into their everyday lives. It is difficult to complete these types of activities when the students cannot tell who is on their team!

The value of teamwork is far reaching past the PE classroom.

It will follow students as they get older and into other aspects of their lives; school, work and even in social situations. Teamwork is important skill for my students to have and this project would give them the opportunity to learn about and utilize it in my class.
