Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In my third grade class, every student is special and unique. I've taken joy in being a part of a special school community where students, families, and teachers all work together to give our students a strong social, emotional and academic foundation.

We all have the same goal in mind: to cultivate a nurturing environment in which we are committed to challenging each student to meet his or her optimal potential academically, socially, and emotionally by respecting, appreciating and challenging students in a caring community, while building a sense of responsibility and respect.

With that said, as an educator, I am always looking to further my education to provide my students with the best education that I can give them. Unfortunately, my technology is outdated making it difficult to continue my professional development as an educator.

Many online trainings are made available. In order to attend I need an updated, working laptop. I am hoping to attend online conferences for SEL training and Wilson Reading. These online conferences will help me better service my students that English is a second language and equip me with tools to better address the emotional needs of my students. Without a laptop to use at home these free learning opportunities will be missed.

I am asking for a laptop to continue my education so I can continue to engage students in their learning while in my class. Please help me reach my professional development goals.
