I am a kindergarten teacher in South Carolina and I have 20 students in my class. Our budget is very tight this year and I am having trouble adding manipulatives and new materials to my science center. I need your help.

Each year I try to include as many science/animal thematic units in my curriculum as possible. One of my favorite ones is the owl unit. This is always lots of fun to do in the fall when it starts to get chilly. Unfortunately, my owl supplies have become old and depleted. I would really like to spruce things up this year!

This project is unique because it has lots of sensory components. The sounds of different owls are featured on the Voices of North American Owls CD. The students will learn to identify the screams, chitters, squawks, barks, moans, whines, and chuckles of owls. The owl call will allow the children to copy the calls of different owls. Finally, the egg replicas will provide excellent visual and sensory stimulation. I am confident my students will enjoy this owl unit.
