My Students

Our school is focused on creating classroom's full of explorers, artists, historians, scientists, mathematicians, authors and entrepreneurs. Here, students and teachers are all learners at heart. Daily we set out to create new worlds, seek new adventures, experience failures and find success in the smallest of corners.

We are a school full of visionaries, with hopes that we can sculpt a world that not only we are proud of but responsible for!

Along with our general education and English language learner population, we serve students with a variety of special needs. Some would believe that because we are a new school we have a great deal of money, but this is far from accurate. Much of the funding for the school has been dedicated to many of the basics that other schools have in place and no longer need such as furniture and library books.

My Project

Reading is such an important part of learning yet so many student's are turned off by the restrictions many place on reading. I want my students to have a choice in the books that they read and that is why graphic novels are a perfect option for them.

Graphic novels emphasizing Greek mythology, fantasy, adventure, and fairy tales will grab some of the most reluctant readers who tire from reading traditional fiction and non-fiction.

With a class set of these high-interest graphic novels, we can read with visually stunning images that are age-appropriate and individualized to each students interest creating opportunities for them to enjoy reading. They will be not only excited to read but growing as learners!
