Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students I work with are English Language Learners. They need easy and fun books to read to improve their English reading skills. My students love reading books about people and places. They are learning many language and reading skills to help them develop the English language. They love learning new facts and are hungry for information. Every time we discuss a topic they want to know more about it and the only way to find more about a topic is to read informational text books.

My Project

The Who is? and What is? book series are fun and easy to read. My students like these books because they have good information about a certain person or place in history. The books have illustrations that help students understand the text.

My students can finish a book in 2 to 3 days because they enjoyed reading the ones I have in the classroom; they enjoyed them so much they want to get a new one to read.

Sometimes they have to wait until another student finishes one, since I only have a few. These series will be a good addition to my classroom library!
