Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have only met my students through my laptop screen this year, but they are already what I look forward to every day. We've been "in" school for one month now and I have already seen so much growth in each student.

My students live in Oakland so their diversity adds to the beauty of our class.

Their smiles and concentrated faces while they work let me know that they want to be successful.

We are a Title 1 school, but I know my students just need the right materials to meet my high expectations. The first grade students I have this year are just as bubbly during distance learning as in person.

My Project

Whiteboards would be used daily in my class (if we were at school and it wasn't 2020). Students are able to write words, sentences, and math problems on whiteboards. The whiteboards allow me to check for comprehension quickly and efficiently. I can provide immediate feedback and students can easily fix their mistake. Students love personal whiteboards and it's a great way for them to share their work.

By donating to this project, you will help increase student engagement and improve my class' academic achievement through increased participation.

Whiteboards allow all students to respond to questions without the fear of being wrong (because only I can see what they've written). Students love to show off their work and are proud when they can show what they know. The whiteboards will get the students excited for learning and will make it easier for me to check answers while I teach online.
