My sixth grade students are a group with a lot of personalities, especially during this interesting school year! They have stayed strong and kept learning even through being at home half-time.
With the diversity of student backgrounds, we also have a variety of needs around the classroom.
My students want to continue to build their knowledge of all subjects, but especially math and science. This starts as a question that I encourage my students to find their own answers to.
My Project
While working with small groups at our kidney table in the back of the room, my students currently have to watch the lesson as I hold up a personal-sized whiteboard for them to see the problems we are working on. I have promised them several times that I would work on getting us a larger whiteboard for the back of the room, and I'm hoping to get one soon!
A mobile whiteboard, along with some colorful dry erase markers and a few good erasers will make all the difference for our small group STEM work.
Both my students and I will have the opportunity to use these materials to collaborate and boost their STEM learning!
